What is a hackathon?

A hackathon is an invention marathon. Students come together to build cool software & hardware hacks over 24-48 hours. It’s very beginner friendly.

How much does it cost?

Nothing! Attending a hackathon is free! 😁

Do I need to be a student to attend?

Yes. Only students over the age of 18 who are currently enrolled at a college/university or have graduated within the past 12 months are eligible to attend as hackers.

Where/when is the event?

Check in will be between 10am and 11am in the main foyer of Aston University, Aston Triangle, Birmingham, B4 7ET. Don’t worry, we’ll have signs so you don’t get lost in the labyrinth that is Aston main building!

What is Major League Hacking?

Can we sponsor AstonHack?

Yes! We’d love for your company to sponsor, and help make this fantastic event possible! You can view our sponsorship document here. We would ask all potential sponsors to email hack [at] and one of the team will get back to you.
